Directions to Derby from Launceston and Hobart

From Launceston

Derby is located approximately 1.5 hours from Launceston Airport. The Tasman Highway (A3) is the most commonly used route however it does have some sharp bends so if you are travelling with a caravan or trailer you may prefer to travel via Lilydale on the B81. This is a similar travel time, only adding a few extra minutes to your journey.

Arrived in the morning and have some extra time? Stock up on the best of Tassie’s produce at Harvest Market on a Saturday, or grab the freshest sourdough and great coffee at Bread and Butter.

We recommend stopping in Scottsdale where there is a Woolworths, BWS and Bakery for all your essentials. Alternatively, the closest IGA in Branxholm is 15 minutes drive from Derby.

From Hobart

Getting to Derby from Hobart is a bit more of a trek but a pretty straightforward drive. It takes approximately 3.5-4 hours from the Airport via National Highway 1. Once again, we recommend not using the A3 highway if you are looking to avoid sharp/tight bends.

Scottsdale will also still be your closest option for groceries and essentials.

We offer a pickup and drop off service as required so send us an enquiry to find out more.
